On the plus side though, the lighter evenings mean I got a fair bit of prep done towards my goal of making six dresses this month. I've cut out and marked up five dresses and have also got all the bodice linings sewn and one dress (of the five) completely finished, so I'm off to a good start!
Now for the outfits, with links to their original blog posts.
Day 1 - this is a dress which I bought last year - I just love the fabric, and a self-designed cardigan.
Day 2 - me-made dress (a Simplicity 2444) and another self-designed cardigan.
Day 3 - an Emery dress which has survived my cull of shorter-length dresses (actually, now I think of it, the dress above also falls into that category) and a cardigan I knitted last year, adapted from a vintage pattern.
Day 4 - a 1950s day - striped top from a vintage pattern, which, although it doesn't have a date on it, I'm guessing from the pattern photographs is from the early 50s - or possibly very late 40s), and denim skirt from a pattern dating from 1955 - the angle I took the photo from makes the skirt look longer than it actually is.
Day 5 - cardigan adapted from a modern pattern and me-made dress from a vintage pattern.
Day 6 - my new Wing Song dress worn with my Honeybee cardigan.
Day 7 - back to work after the long weekend, weather still not great... today's combination is my new Tweet the birds dress, and Harebell cardigan.
I'm hoping that week two will be warmer than week one..
beautiful combinations ;o)
